"CAW!!!!!!!"
~Scratch's jumpscare sound in FNaP1
Scratch is a secondary antagonist of Five Nights at Pingas 1, a main protagonist and playable character in Five Nights at Pingas 5, and a secondary protagonist and helper in Five Nights at Pingas 6. Scratch is one of Dr. Robotnik's most loyal companions who has been with him since the beginning, and he's also the only other character in the series that's a reference to the original "PINGAS!" clip used in YouTube Poops.
Appearance[]
Scratch's basic design is simply his exact same design from the "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" cartoon series, where he is a bipedal robotic chicken who is one of Dr. Robotnik's faithful henchmen.
However, Scratch does have an older appearance in Five Nights at Pingas 6, where to show the passage of time, he now has a peg-leg.
Biography[]
Five Nights at Pingas
Scratch first becomes active on Night 1 alongside Robotnik, Sanic, and Vegeta, and he appears in every following night afterwards. Scratch can appear in a variety of cameras and can take numerous paths to get to your office. Scratch can appear in all three entries, so that means he can appear in the table hole, the wall hole, and the door on the left. When you cut the light on to find him, it will reveal that he has red eyes, at each doorway he has these. If Scratch appears in one of these areas, either block off the hole with the laser gate or shut the PINGAS door. Not doing so will result in you getting killed and jumpscared by Scratch.
Five Nights at Pingas 5
Scratch returns as the third playable character in Five Nights at Pingas 5, and he is tasked with defending the F.B.I.'s underwear against Peppy Hare and his army of Pingas Robots.
In Scratch's campaign, you control Scratch, who actually has a pretty unique ability to fly. Instead of just having the ability to move wherever like Robotnik and the Illuminati, when holding down the W or Up Arrow key, Scratch can continuously fly up and stay airborne for an infinite amount of time, only to come back down once the player lets go of the jump buttons. But not only that, Scratch also gets to start out every night with 10 nuclear cancer missiles instead of 5 like every other character does. But these tools are not the most useful, since Scratch doesn't really have any additional abilities to directly fight the Pingas Robots with, except for the 10 missiles, but those run out pretty quickly. Like Robotnik and the Illuminati, Scratch is one of the most difficult characters to play as in the game. Defend the F.B.I. for five nights as Scratch, he is then freed from Hell and is given a cell in a maximum security prison within the F.B.I., and you unlock "Scratch's Nightmare".
In Scratch's nightmare, you play as Scratch, who has been caught in some sort of unexplainable nightmare... There is nothing but a swirly rainbow in the background, but rather you are travelling through the air and must avoid a bunch of random sprites of characters, enemies, buttons, etc. from the rest of the game that come flying from the right side of the screen, touching any sprite that appears will result in you losing the nightmare. The way you travel is kinda similar to how you fly around in Mexican Satan's Revenge, and of course, there is a goal to real 25 miles. The player must make it to 25 miles in order to escape the nightmare.
Scratch appears in the Prison Escape mini-game, where he is saved by Dr. Robotnik and successfully escapes from the F.B.I., where he then goes into hiding along with Robotnik and Sanic.
Five Nights at Pingas 6
Scratch once again returns in Mexican Satan's campaign in Five Nights at Pingas 6, and he is one of the main faces of the game. Scratch first appears in the cutscene in the Mexican Satan campaign after you beat the first night shift at Hell's Border Control as Robotnik. Mexican Satan comes to the Totally Not The Secret Pingas Hideout where Scratch and Sanic are hiding out, Scratch and Sanic have been looking for Robotnik, but Mexican Satan tells them he is out protecting Hell from Lord Gabe and he demands that they help him too. Scratch and Sanic agree to help, but one of them has to stay behind so they can take care of their kush farm. The player has a choice, they can choose either Sanic or Scratch.
If the player chooses Scratch, he will come with you to Hell's Border Control, and he can be used to help Robotnik defend himself against Lord Gabe's disciples in Hell. You can move Scratch around Hell's Border Control with the arrow keys, and when he comes across an enemy, he can then let out a jumpscare scream sound that can scare the enemy away.
It is unknown what happens to Scratch or where he goes after the game has been beat.
Jumpscare[]
When Scratch jumpscares you in Five Nights at Pingas 1, he will appear as an MS Paint drawing of himself, slowly zoom in on the player, create flashing lights in the background, and yell "CAW!!!!!!!"
Trivia[]
- Although Scratch is absent for Five Nights at Pingas 2, 3, and 4, there are some explanations as to why he wasn't in some of those games in the Five Nights at Pingas lore video made by AnimatorXP. However, since Five Nights at Pingas 2 takes place before FNaP1, he should've gone to prison with Robotnik and crew, and he technically did as shown in the drawing in the video of Mexican Satan helping Robotnik, Sanic, and Scratch escaping M.E.M.E. Prison, despite not appearing in Five Nights at Pingas 2 the game. But we learn that after the events of FNaP1, Scratch was able to avoid capture and getting sent to prison because he hid in the sp00ky basement of Robotnik's mansion. As well, Scratch is also the owner of the Pingas Underwear Museum, which he created in loving memory of Robotnik and his friends' deaths, and he helps them try to come back to life when they come back to life as zombies by hiring night guards in the museum so the zombies can suck on their underwear. It is unaware where Scratch is in Five Nights at Pingas 4, it is assumed he was also trying to get Holy Lord Gabe's underwear for Mexican Satan, but there's no proof of that since he isn't in the game, but he could've been since he was in Hell and needs to be freed in FNaP5.
- In most instances, Scratch is not actually Scratch, he is Scratch's retarded cousin "Roboman", which is stated both by the Briefer in Five Nights at Pingas 5 and in the good ending newspaper when the player beats Night 666 of Five Nights at Pingas 1. But since he looks too much like Scratch, he is just called "Scratch".
- Scratch is one of the henchmen of Dr. Ivo Robotnik in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon and is one of the only references to the original Pingas clip other than Robotnik himself. However, there is another henchman named "Grounder" that also appeared in the clip, but was never seen or brought up in Five Nights at Pingas.
