Barney the Purple Dinosaur is the main antagonist of Five Nights at Pingas 5. She is one of the greatest evils the universe has ever known, and she is also the wife of Peppy Hare. For reasons unknown (other than she just wants them) Barney wants nothing other than high quality and powerful underwear, such as Holy Lord Gabe's and the F.B.I.'s. Barney is also the one who had shoved two sausages into Peppy Hare's eyes, which is why he has them in Five Nights at Pingas 4, and Barney will kill him if he doesn't return with the underwear.
Barney's regular appearance is a giant bipedal purple dinosaur with a green chest who has an appearance similar to a stuffed animal.
However, Barney does have another form in his jumpscare, where his regular colors are inverted, had crazed bloodshot eyes, demon horns, brains for his stomach, and a snake for a tongue.

Barney is the main villain of the game, where she is trying to retrieve the F.B.I.'s underwear, even with her husband, Peppy Hare, trying to retrieve it with the Pingas Robots.
Barney in CAM 03
Barney first becomes active on Night 4 of anyone's campaign, and she works in a fashion reminiscent of the Puppet, where she usually sits in CAM 03 asleep. She has a music player next to her playing some music that keeps her asleep, so you must keep charging the music player to keep her asleep. If the player rejects charging Barney's music player, she will come for them and kill the player, resulting in a jumpscare.
Barney shoving sausages into Peppy Hare's eyes
Although she doesn't appear in the main game until Night 4 and 5, Barney does appear earlier in both the first and second cutscenes that take place in between nights. In the first cutscene, after Peppy Hare confronts her, she tells Peppy to go and get Holy Lord Gabe's underwear because she wants them. However, in the second cutscene, Peppy Hare actually refuses to do so because he doesn't want to rob Lord Gabe, but then Barney shoves two sausages in Peppy's eyes, telling him to do it or it will get worse. But of course Barney somehow learns about Peppy trying to get the F.B.I. underwear, so she comes to F.B.I. building for Nights 4 and 5.
It is never explained where Barney went or what happened to her after the game has been beat, but we can most likely assume that she ends up killing Peppy Hare since he failed at both tasks of getting him the underwear.

The Image of Barney found at the end of FNaP4
Barney actually has an appearance in Five Nights at Pingas 4. When you beat the second iteration of The Great Escape (the one with Mexican Satan), the ending screen is a close-up of Barney's face with bloody eyes, with a caption reading "hello." The alternate menu music in the game is also a creepy and more sinister version of the "I Love You" song from Barney, so both of these could've been intended as foreshadowing for Barney's arrival in the 5th game.
Barney's true gender is currently unknown, since it was never specified in any of the games or the lore video if Barney was in fact male or female. While the original Barney has a male voice, as well, the voice of Barney heard at the beginnings of Nights 4 and 5 is also male, the voice of Barney in the two cutscenes he appears in have a woman's voice. But since she is in fact Peppy's "wife", she is most likely a female.
